CAMP SCATICO COMMUNITY DAY
SUNDAY, JULY 12 11AM-4PM
We’d love to welcome those who live in the area to join us for Camp Scatico’s first-ever Community Day! A traditional brother-sister sleepaway camp, this is Scatico’s first time in 99 summers not opening for the summer. But when one door closes, another opens, and we are excited to share Scatico’s facilities with a wider community.
WHAT’s A COMMUNITY DAY?
It’s an opportunity for us to share Camp Scatico with our neighbors! Read below for more details:
We will welcome individuals and families to camp from 11 AM to 4 PM on Sunday July 12.
The waterfront will be open, with a lifeguard present, for swimming and boating.
Based on guidelines, certain activity areas— the lake, ball fields, etc— could be open, while some games, like basketball and touch football, may be off limits.
We will properly sanitize all equipment, set up hand-washing stations, and have a lifeguard on duty.
We will connect with each division to put together a loose schedule for the day— for example, GS at a certain time, s’mores and campfires, games…. Days will be more structured for Lower Hill.
All camper siblings are welcome, but unfortunately extended family and grandparents are not.
We also welcome families to visit camp earlier in the summer on their own time, more information on that below.
WHAt WILL THE COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS BE?
We will not be screening people upon arrival, but we will be enforcing safety and physical distancing guidelines.
All people over the age of 2 must have a mask with them. No mask, no entry. Masks should be worn when entering indoor facilities with other people in them (such as the bathroom).
Specific protocols will be communicated via email leading up to your Visit Day.
Families can also come by camp at their own convenience, please just email info@scatico.com if you’d like to do so, so that we can welcome you! And please keep in mind that:
Parents need to drive up their children, and stay on-site. There aren’t counselors running activities!
We will be enforcing whatever social distancing guidelines are in place at the time, so while some activity areas will be open, some may be off limits.
Our kitchen is closed! So if you do want to have a picnic lunch, please bring your own food.
Please save joint plans with other camp families for the Divisional Visit Days. We want to avoid carpooling, and excluding any members of a division.
